About

Seattle in Progress is headed by Ethan Phelps-Goodman. Ethan is a software developer, data scientist and civic organizer, with over 15 years of experience building technology in industry, non-profits, government and academia. He cut his teeth on civic technology and open data at the Sunlight Foundation, the nation's leading developer and advocate for government transparency through technology. Prior to founding Seattle in Progress he worked on machine learning and big data for Facebook.

He is motivated by his belief that technologists need to play a more conscious role in shaping the cities in which they live.
